Acupuncture and Moxibustion
Acupuncture
Treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points of the body. Sometimes the needles are inserted just for a second or two, or they may need to be left in whilst you rest. Many people feel very relaxed during the treatment. For more information about acupuncture please head to the What is acupuncture page.
Auricular Acupuncture
I will occasionally use auricular acupuncture points alongside body points, it enhance your overall treatment. This involved the stimulation of certain points in the ear that are helpful in addressing the following issues:
-
Stopping smoking
-
Weight loss and over eating
-
Insomnia
-
Gaming and gambling addiction
-
Drug and alcohol addiction
Moxibustion
Moxibustion (or moxa) is a therapeutic method of classical Chinese medicine, using a herb made from common mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) used to heat up certain acupuncutre points. Moxa is very complimentary to acupuncture so where appropriate it may be incorporated into your treatment.

Due to its warming nature, moxa has a stimulating effect on the body, which helps to build energy levels and enhances the overall effects of acupuncture.
